In chinese culture there's a tradition, Zhua Zhou, that happens on your first birthday. Objects are placed in front of a baby that symbolize different professions or values, and whichever one is picked first is supposedly a glimpse into the child's future.
Out of all the items placed in front of a one-year old Tara, she picked up the pen. Since then, she has always felt the need to create.

She's turned that instinct into her motivation, aiming to speak to the world and more importantly, to the people in it.
Tara hopes to give the same comfort that art, especially animation, had provided for her while growing up. She sees it as her responsibility to use the skills and experiences she has to bring stories to life that resonates and inspires.

Tara holds her priorities and focus in representation in her work and stories. She owes who she is to the people and community that raised her and she aims to highlight that love in her creations. With the deep understanding of the power art holds, she thrives on sharing and using it to its fullest.

.

As a current student at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, Tara pioneers her knowledge. Not only of new programs to implement her creativity into but also her understanding of the world.
Along with challenging herself with a diverse range of classes and participating in club meetings, Tara also engages in WebsterLEADS to strengthen her leadership abilities. If you are interested in her experiences within WebsterLEADS please feel free to check out her portfolio!
